Built by union staff. Grounded in real union work.
Our Story
Effecta Strategies was created by union staff who have spent years working alongside local leaders and members in a right-to-work state.
We’ve done the day-to-day work — supporting organizing, handling representation issues, communicating during bargaining, and trying to keep everything moving with limited time and resources. We know what it’s like to balance immediate fires with long-term priorities, and how hard that can be without clear information and steady support.
Effecta exists to make that work more sustainable. Our background in union operations, communication, and membership work shapes everything we do. We don’t offer theory or one-size-fits-all solutions. We bring practical strategy, built from real experience, that helps leaders focus their time where it matters most — standing with their members.
Meet Amanda
Amanda brings a process-driven approach to helping organizations work better from the inside out. With deep experience in data management, internal operations, and day-to-day administration, she focuses on turning messy, manual, or fragmented processes into something people can actually understand, maintain, and rely on. This allows leaders and staff to spend less time managing systems and more time advancing their work.
Amanda believes good operations shouldn’t feel complicated. When the underlying systems are clear and intentional, teams spend less time putting out fires and more time doing the work that actually matters.
Meet Caitlin
Caitlin Blair is a union strategist and communicator who helps local unions build lasting power through clear strategy, strong leadership, and real member ownership. With years of hands-on experience at UFCW Local 227, she understands the day-to-day realities locals face—from internal communications, contract campaigns and member engagement and growth across large, complex units.
Caitlin is known as a trusted thought partner who brings practical strategy, honest guidance, and a deep respect for union culture. Locals work with Caitlin because she helps leadership teams turn vision into action while keeping members at the center of the work.
What Sets Us Apart
We are union staff, not outside consultants
Our work is shaped by lived experience inside our local union and alongside unions across the country, especially in right-to-work states. We understand the pressures leaders face because we’ve carried them ourselves.
We focus on steady, practical support — not one-off fixes
We support organizing, communication, and day-to-day systems in ways that make the work easier now and stronger over time.
We respect local leadership and how unions actually operate
We take the time to understand the local and support internal and external organizing efforts, along with communication and systems that reduce repeat work.
